“Life is a math equation. In order to gain the most, you have to know how to convert negatives into positives.”

Teaching of Mathematics is to meet the emerging needs of students. It is expected that students should acquire the ability to solve problems. The teaching of Mathematics should be imparted through activities which may involve the use of activity materials, patterns, charts, games, and puzzles.

“The only way to learn mathematics is to do mathematics.”

The broad objectives of teaching Mathematics intend to help the students:

  1. To apply the knowledge and skills needed to solve the problems by more than one method
  2. To develop an interest in students to study Mathematics.
  3. To familiarize students with different aspects of Mathematics used in daily life.
  4. To develop positive attitude to think, analyze and express logically.
  5. To develop respect towards great Mathematicians for their contributions to the field of Mathematics.

“Mathematics is not about numbers, equations, computations or algorithms: it is about UNDERSTANDING ”

The students’ achievement must be shared with the students and their parents to give them an overview of the level of learning that has taken place during different periods.

“Mathematics is the art of saying many things in many different ways.”

A teacher, while sharing the feedback with student or parents, should be empathetic, non-judgmental and motivating. Teachers must share the best examples with the class to motivate the students.

“Just because something is difficult doesn't mean you should not try, it just means you should try harder.”
